photo

Yesterday I:
  • Went to Union Square, the Financial District, and Chinatown in SF to continue working on my final photograph project. (This weekend I'll develop and print..)
  • Ate my favorite pizza at the mall
  • Enjoyed and laughed during dinner talk with my housemates
  • Ate ice cream after washing my house's dishes
  • Woke up at 4AM with a migraine to take Excedrin, and now I feel completely awful.

weekend

This weekend I:

  • Took 4 rolls of 35mm film and 1.5 rolls of 120mm film
  • Went to Santa Monica Beach, Downtown LA, Hollywood, Pasadena, and home
  • Had a good time Saturday night in East LA and then Hollywood with Joe
  • Tried a new restaurant with my mom and gave her a birthday and mother's day present
  • Laughed until it hurt; slept late and woke up early; got stuck in traffic at an unreasonable hour; looked out onto the Los Angeles skyline and was happy with everything.
Now back to reality! How many days till summer, please?

Heading home

I'm heading home to Los Angeles for a long weekend. Mostly I'll be spending it completing a photography project, which hopefully will turn out well. I'm not even sure yet what exactly it'll be...but I hope I can string something along. I'll also be able to squeeze in some fun here and there as well. Bon week-end!

today

New dress and belt to go with old shoes. Old shoes that happen to also match my graduation dress! An outfit to wear on the roof to celebrate a friends birthday with pizza and beer... and coffee from SF to mail to my brother and brother-in-law within the week.

It's nice to just take a weekend to myself. Sleeping late, SF adventure by myself, clean room, hot weather. Tomorrow, homework.

A girl can dream..

I've been daydreaming about what I will wear in France this summer. I want to pack light and keep it simple and summery. Dresses, flats, shorts, stripes, and a little color. Polyvore helps.

Hitchcock and his Cohorts

While watching Psycho to comfort sickness tonight (don't ask me...), I got to thinking. I wanted my last undergrad film class to be a memorable and interesting one, and am extremely glad that the spring 09 schedule offered a Hitchcock class taught by an extremely well versed expert on the man, and, as a side note, just happens to have a well deserved inflated ego. I've never thought so deeply about a Hitchcock film prior to this semester, and how there are so many details that often go unnoticed by viewers. It's really a fun experience to dissect one of Hitch's films. Before taking this class, I've always loved Hitchcock's solid team of Bernard Hermann and Saul Bass: composer and title sequence artist. The films that come from this team are definitely my favorites of Hitch's oeuvre.

And did you know that in EVERY single one of Hitchcock's films, beginning in 1926, you can find a reference to birds? Interesting, isn't it?

hmm, graduation gift to myself?

I think I have too many things on my wishlist, but a good leather bag that's large enough to fit notebooks, cameras, random stuff... is one of them. How about a graduation gift to myself? YES!

Spring?

It's been so rainy the past couple of days in Berkeley. I know we're in a drought, but we were teased so badly with such a warm Monday. And now to be in the midst of showers and occasional thunder? No thanks. I want shorts, sandals, dresses! Not scarves and boots and wind!

I'm really drawn to the denim skirt lately. I never would have thought twice about denim skirts, but this look from anthropologie is really nice. Perfect for spring and summer, wherever they may be.

New

I have been a busy bumblebee but have wanted to start blogging again. Memories, photos of things, films, anything just to keep my mind fresh instead of half dead thanks to school or whatever else. Life is really changing. I have my cap and gown and am job searching, as well as preparing to leave to France in June. It's exciting and scary. For now, this:
